On Saturday, April 8, and Sunday, April 9, 2017, The South East Idaho Gem and Mineral Society will be holding their annual Gem and Mineral Show at the North Bannock County Fairgrounds, in Pocatello.
This will mark the 61st year the club will be holding this show.
This family friendly event is both educational and fun, offering frequent silent rock auctions, hourly raffle prizes, dealers and demonstrators from several states selling beautiful gemstones, crystals, beads, jewelry, and unique gift items.
The show has several activities for the kids too, including a hands-on table to see and feel the different samples of rocks and minerals.
There will be a food concession, and is a great place to bring a rock you may have found and would like identified!
Besides the dealers, this show features over 30 display cases filled with fossils, petrified wood, gems and minerals from private collections of club members and dealers that are present at the show.
Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is a $2.00 donation for adults and children under 12 are free with a paying adult. Families should allow a minimum of one hour to visit the show. The show building is handicap accessible.
